Shark Rice Krispie Treats Ingredients
I stayed pretty true to the classic Rice Krispies treat recipe. If you have ever made them before, then this will be so easy.
The only real difference is that I decorated them to look like sharks in the ocean.
Here is what you’ll need from the store, along with any substitutions you can make.
- Miniature Marshmallows
- Rice Krispies Cereal
- Blue Candy Melts
- Shark Gummies
- White Sprinkles – use coconut flakes instead if you don’t have sprinkles
- Popsicle Sticks – Cake pop sticks will also work
How To Store Them
Store your Shark rice krispie treats just like you would any other rice krispie treats. Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
If you refrigerate them, they will harden and won’t be as easy to eat.

You can also freeze them, but I don’t recommend it. Freezing them will change the texture of the treats when they thaw back out.
Decorating Tips
If this is your first time decorating rice krispie treats, then I have some tips that will help you out.
First, don’t forget to lay down the parchment paper. You can use wax paper instead, but foil won’t work as well. The chocolate will stick to the foil more than it will the parchment or wax paper.
Next, spray the 9×13 pan with plenty of non-stick spray. Marshmallow treats tend to stick to pans. They can be a pain to remove!
Finally, add the shark and sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft and melted. If you wait too long, just add a bit more melted chocolate to the rice krispie treats so that the decorations stick.
Here’s a bonus tip (and I didn’t do this). Decorate the popsicle sticks with paint or markers. Blue popsicle sticks would look amazing with the blue treats!
Just mark where the sticks will touch the treats and paint below that spot (you don’t want paint in the treats).

No matter what, have fun with them! They might be simple, but there is a lot of room for artistic expression.
