Shark Fin Jello Shots | Fun Jello Shots

We are all about summer here…and parties! While I wouldn’t want to meet up with a shark in person, a little shark fin fun is always good – say hello to these Shark Fin Jello Shots! They are some of The Best Jello Shots to serve at theme parties and fun events!

These fun jello shots are perfect for summer pool parties, shark parties, shark week and let’s not forget Jimmy Buffett’s ever popular Fins song! So perfect for a Jimmy Buffett tailgate party!

I like to think of these fin jello shots as mini desserts with a kick! Happy Summer!

Shark Fin Jello Shots

 SUPPLIES:  Blue Jell-O  |  Vodka  |  Whip Topping {I used Cool Whip}  |  Portion Cups  |  Gray Craft Foam or Cardstock Paper  |  Appetizer Plastic Spoons  |  Tacky Glue  |  Pencil  |  Scissors

TIP: One thing to keep in mind when buying your supplies – if your dessert cups are shallow you might want to buy shorter spoons. Otherwise, your shark fins are going to stick up very high above the Jello, and you will have to add tons of whip topping! Think about the proportion of the Jello and where you want the “fin” to sit in the cup once inserted.

Boil water as instructed on the package.

Pour powdered gelatin into a bowl and add one cup of boiling water. Stir until gelatin is dissolved then add the 1/2 cup of cold water and 1/2 of vodka. Pour into a spouted measuring cup and pour evenly among small portion cups. Place in the refrigerator to set up.

First, create a “fin” template out of white paper and used it to trace the fins onto the gray foam or cardstock. That way they will all be the same size and shape. Then cut out the DIY foam/cardstock shark fins and glue them on the tops of the spoons.

Once the fins have dried, spoon a few teaspoons of whipped topping onto the jello “spiking” it a little to look like waves. Then insert the fin adorned spoons into the center of the cups. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve!

The spoons are great to help get all the jello out of the shot…that can be tricky sometimes! {Wink}
