What Is In A Shark Bite?
I used ingredients that are easy to find. You can buy these ingredients at your local grocery store and wherever you buy liquor.
Here’s what I used in my shark bite cocktail.
- Viniq Shimmer Liquor – This is a specialty liquor that makes your drink glisten, like the ocean in the sunshine. If you can’t find any at the store, use this recipe to make your own.
- Meyers Rum – This is my favorite rum, but Bicardi 8 is a perfect substitute.
- Blue Curacao – Not only is the flavor of it perfect, but it makes the drink extra blue.
- Grape soda – This enhances all the colors and adds a fruity twist to the drink. You could also use grape water flavoring in some Seltzer water.
- Fruit Punch – A little bit of fruit punch is what makes the red colors (and brings out the fruitiness in the drink).
- Grenadine – This sweet and tart drink is made from pomegranates, so if you don’t have any, a splash of pomegranate juice will work too.
That’s what you need to make the drink. But don’t forget about the garnishes. They dress up the drink and make it fun.
For the garnishes, I used:
- Fresh Mint
- Cherry
- Slice of Lime
- Add A Plastic Shark Fin Pick (not shown)
You can dress up your drink however you want. Use a fun glass, add a mini umbrella, or even add some shark-shaped gummy candies to float in the ocean.
How To Make A Shark Bite Drink
How hard is it to make a shark bite drink?
It’s actually one of the easiest drink recipes that I have! Whether you’ve made cocktails before or not, this will be one that you can make in just a few seconds.
All of the exact steps are written out in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
But here’s a quick overview.
Grab a cocktail shaker, and add the Viniq, rum, and fruit punch to it. Shake it really well so that all the flavors mix together.
Add some crushed ice to a glass and pour this red layer to the glass.
Then, add the other layers. First, add the grape soda. Then pour the grenadine.
That’s it! Garnish the glass and enjoy your shark bite cocktail!
You can serve this in a normal glass, or have fun and use a pretty cocktail glass.
