If the combination of a slushie and a margarita sounds like a dream come true, then keep reading. This is the ultimate summer drink.
Sweetened with real strawberries and agave nectar, it’s a party-ready cocktail that everyone will ask for. And it’s so easy to make, that you can whip up a few glasses in no time.

Frozen margaritas are one of the best ways to make the classic drink. They taste just like a grown-up slushie. (So please keep them away from kids, you can’t tell there’s alcohol in it until you take a sip).
If you have tequila and triple sec, then you’re halfway to the best-tasting margarita drink you’ll ever make!
There are a lot of different ways to make margaritas, but a frozen strawberry margarita has to be one of the best.

Different Ways To Make Margaritas
Like other cocktails, there are three ways to make margaritas: frozen, on the rocks, or straight up.
As you can tell, this is a frozen margarita recipe. But what do the other types of margaritas look like?
When you make a margarita on the rocks, you’re mixing all the alcohol in a shaker and pour it over ice. The ice cubes are the rocks.
Finally, you can also make a margarita straight up. This means you’re serving it at room temperature, without any ice at all. This is the least watered-down version and is also the most difficult to drink really quickly.
When you make a margarita on the rocks, you’ll also add either salt or sugar to the rim of the glass.

Since my recipe is frozen, I skipped the sugar or salt rim.
What’s In A Strawberry Margarita
I kept the ingredients simple in this delicious margarita.
For the alcohol, I only used two types of liquor:
- Tequila
- Triple Sec
And then I sweetened it with pureed strawberries. You might not need the extra agave syrup. But if you like your drinks to taste really sweet, a little bit of syrup really makes a difference.
After that, you only need some ice (to make it frozen) and some lime juice.
Save some strawberries and limes for the garnish.

And I suggest using a high-powered blender for this frozen margarita recipe. You need something that can chop up strawberries and ice without getting stuck.
