Creamsicle Jello Shots
Bright, fruity, and deliciously creamy, creamsicle jello shots are everyone’s favorite flavor. They are one of the The Best Jello Shot Recipes and you can serve them at parties any time of year.
As much as I enjoy making food that matches the holiday or season, it’s always a good idea to have a few drinks or recipes that you can serve at any party, no matter the theme.
And these creamsicle jello shots are the perfect drinks to serve at summer parties, fall get-togethers, or winter brunches. No matter what you’re celebrating, these jello shots fit right in.

That’s because you really can’t go wrong with the light flavor of oranges and cream.
And the bright orange color fits in with spring, summer, and fall seasons.
So, pin this post or keep it somewhere safe, you’ll use it over and over again.

Best Alcohol For Jello Shots
What is the best type of liquor to add to jello shots? Well, that depends on the flavors you want to bring out.
Vodka is the best type of liquor to add to most kinds of jello shots because the flavor can fade to the background, letting the jello (and other ingredients) stand out.
For orange creamsicle jello shots, I used Pinnacle whipped vodka. It has a sweet and almost creamy taste.
When you add it to the orange gelatin, the result tastes like a creamsicle ice cream.
If you aren’t a fan of super-sweet desserts, use an unflavored vodka, like Titos.
In fact, the type of vodka I used is what sets these creamsicle jello shots apart from my orange jello shots recipe.
Supplies
- Orange Jello
- 2 oz plastic cups
- Saucepan
- Whisk

When you make creamsicle jello shots, the process will be just like making other jello shots.
Heat up water in a saucepan on the stove. It should be almost boiling. Then, use a whisk to stir in the orange jello. The water has to be hot enough for the jello powder to dissolve.

Then, add the vodka! After it’s completely mixed, all you have to do is pour the spiked jello mixture into some plastic cups.

How Long To Store Jello Shots
It will take about an hour or two for the jello to set completely.
Can you make jello shots ahead? Yes, you can! But don’t add the whipped cream and orange slices until right before the party. They won’t last as long and could even get a strange texture.
If you are going to make them ahead, I suggest using the cups that come with lids. Then store them in the refrigerator with a lid so that the air stays off of them.

Right before the party, all you have to do is add the whipped cream and an orange slice. And they are ready to be served!
