Be careful with these Jell-O shots – they will sneak up on you! With all the fresh fruit and citrus flavors, you don’t even notice that they contain rum.

These easy jello shots are served in cute little cups so you and your guests can grab them and enjoy them without worrying about someone serving them.

The bright orange and red colors in these fun jello shots are perfect for almost any party theme. Serve them at your next luau, summer beach party, or Cinco de Mayo.

The options and times to serve them are pretty endless. Since you make them inside individual cups, they are a cinch to make ahead and store before your party. This way all you have to do is grab them and set them out!

Pina Colada Jello Shot Ingredients

There are two layers to these cute little shots. Both layers contain rum, so you know these are party-ready!

In the white layer, I mixed some gelatin with condensed milk and coconut rum. If you need this to be a dairy-free recipe, use coconut milk instead of whole milk.

Then in the yellow layer, I mixed hot water with some pineapple jello and pineapple rum. Trust me; pineapple jello has the flavors you want. Even though lemon might work, it won’t taste nearly as amazing as pineapple does.

Don’t forget about the garnishes on top! Sprinkle some coconut flakes on top, and add a cherry and a slice of orange.

Since I used pineapple in the pina colada shots, you could replace the orange with some sliced pineapples.

How To Make Pina Colada Jello Shots

It’s actually really easy to make festive pina colada Jello shots at home.

You need to do it in shifts. First, make the white layer in the cups and then let them chill in the refrigerator until the Jello is set (wiggly, not watery).

While that is chilling, make the yellow layer. Let the yellow layer cool to room temperature while in the mixing bowl. You don’t want the yellow layer to melt the bottom white layer.

After it’s cooled down, pour it on top of the white layer and place the cups back in the refrigerator.

It takes about two hours for the jello to set completely.
