Happy Weekend, friends. I’m Kristin from Taz + Belly and I am so excited to be a regular contributor here at Oh My! Creative. I’ll be sharing all sorts of simple seasonal printables and fun kid crafts over the next few months and I look forward to helping you make your life a little more creative! Today I have this DIY Be Thankful Jar Printable Cards!
I don’t know about you, but in our home, we are constantly talking about gratitude and how much we have to be thankful for. I know it isn’t quite Thanksgiving season yet, but I wanted to come up with a tangible way to help my girls recognize these things throughout the holiday season. Enter our DIY Be Thankful Jar.
Instead of having blank cards or strips of paper to write on, I created a quick printable with prompts to make it easier for grade school kids to collect their thoughts. These prompts inspire kids to share special notes about the ones they love, things they are thankful for and reasons they love the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s a simple concept, but I think that putting pen to paper helps us all remember just how much we have to be grateful for this time of year.
Simply download the Free Printable I Am Thankful Cards, cut them apart and leave them somewhere your children (and husband!) will see them on a regular basis. I added them to a brass tray on our dining room table along with some pens and pencils. You might have to encourage them in the beginning, but after a few days, my girls are eager to find new things to be thankful for. I’m betting you’ll have to make more copies before Thanksgiving ever gets here!
Now find somewhere fun to collect your notes throughout the season. I love this glass pumpkin that has been in my family for years – I can remember my mom using this every fall since I was a little girl. No fall themed jars on hand? Any jar or large bowl will do for the thankful jar printables! Don’t peek, these notes will be perfect to read over breakfast on Thanksgiving morning.

What a sweet idea! I love this and plan to use your printables with my daughters (though I’ll do the writing for my 3 year old). Thanks so much for sharing this at Share The Wealth Sunday!

Fantastic idea! For the last couple of years I have tried to document one thing I am thankful for every day in November and it would be great to get the kids and the husband to participate along with me.
I am co-hosting the #HomeMatterParty link party this month and would love to have you stop by for a visit. The current party is open through Monday night or join us for the new party on Friday. http://alaynascreations.co/2015/10/30/home-matters-linky-party-61/
I love this idea and will be using it for Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing on Sunday’s Best Linkup.
