How To Make Layered Jello Shots

The idea behind jello shots is pretty simple. You make jello and let it set up inside individual cups.

You’ll make one layer at a time. Let the first layer set up completely before adding the second layer on top.

After you add the second layer – the cherry jello – place a cherry in it. This will allow the cherry jello to form around out.

The cherry will look like it’s floating!

Jello Shot Supplies

There are a few supplies that you’ll need before you start making these tasty little shots.

First, you’ll need some condiment cups with lids. You can make them in washable shot glasses, too. But if you use the kind with the lids you can store them in the refrigerator before the party starts.

Next, you’ll need a saucepan. You’ll use this to boil and make the jello.

Finally, grab some measuring cups.

Pineapple Upside Down Jello Shots

Equipment

  • Shot Cups
  • Saucepan

Ingredients

Cherry Jello Layer

  • 3 ounces Cherry Jello
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 1/2 cup Vanilla Vodka chilled
  • 1/2 cup Amaretto chilled

Pineapple Jello Layer

  • 3 ounces Pineapple Jello
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 1/2 cup Cococnut Rum chilled
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple Juice chilled
  • 1 tsp Lime Juice fresh
  • Marschino Cherries

Instructions

Cherry Layer

  • In a medium saucepan boil 1 cup of water.
  • Add the cherry jello mix and mix to combine.
  • Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add the liquors and stir to combine.
  • Pour the cherry jello mix into the condiment cups 1⁄2 way full.
  • Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the refrigerator and add the maraschino cherries 1 to each condiment cup. Place back in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Pineapple Layer

  • In a medium saucepan boil 1 cup of water.
  • Add the pineapple jello mix and mix to combine. Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add the liquor, pineapple juice and lime juice.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Set to the side to reach room temperature.
  • Once the pineapple jello has cooled pour it on top of the cherry layer. Fill to the top.
  • Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
