Why Use Vodka

I used vodka to spike the lemonade jello shooters.

Vodka is the best type of liquor to use in jello shots because it mixes with the rest of the ingredients perfectly.

Unlike whiskey or brandy, it doesn’t have a unique flavor that stands out too much. In fact, if you want to make the lemonade jello shots taste sweeter, use marshmallow vodka.

And if you want to make the citrus flavors stand out more, use half vodka and half triple sec.

Personally, I like how it tastes when I just spike the lemonade and keep it simple.

This is a cocktail that anyone can make – even if you’ve never made a jello shot before.

Must-Have Tools

Before you make the jello shots, gather all of your supplies together. Make sure you have everything you need.

First, you need shot cups. Use 2-ounce shot glasses. This recipe makes 12 shots.

I used disposable plastic cups. They come with lids, so you can make a bunch of them ahead of time and stack them.

Next, you’ll need a saucepan. This is a basic tool that you’ll use whenever you make Jello.

Finally, get some mini spoons and a baking tray. The mini spoons help you (and your guests) eat the lemonade jello shots.

A baking tray with raised edges keeps all of the disposable cups in one place. This way you can place them in the refrigerator all at once.
