Chia seeds are gluten-free and a good source of calcium. They are also supposed to help curb your appetite. When added to a glass of water they swell up and take on a gel-like consistency. I know I don’t ever drink enough water. It is so good for you and yet why is it so hard to drink?
Really the only time I drink water is at the gym while I am working out. By then my muscles are screaming for water and it’s too late. I am trying to drink this detox water first thing in the morning. It helps wake me up and gives me the energy to get going.
I also enjoy adding chia seeds to jams, yogurt, chia puddings and smoothies.
Benefit Of Drinking Water
H2O, the molecular formula for water, is essential for human life. Every system in our bodies needs water to function properly. That’s why it’s important to drink plenty of fluids every day.
But what are the benefits of drinking water specifically? For one, water helps to flush out toxins and waste from our bodies. It also helps to keep our skin looking healthy and our hair hydrated. In addition, drinking water can help to boost our energy levels and improve our mood.
So next time you’re feeling tired or bloated, reach for a glass of water instead of a cup of coffee. You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel!
This Cucumber Water With Mint is also a very refreshing way to get more water.

Black Chia Seeds VS White Chia Seeds
The age-old debate of black chia vs white chia seeds is one that has divided the health food community for years. Some people swear by the nutritional benefits of black chia seeds, while others prefer the milder taste of white chia seeds. So, what’s the difference between these two superfoods?
Well, it turns out that both types of chia seeds are packed with nutrients. Black chia seeds tend to be slightly higher in antioxidants, while white chia seeds have a lower glycemic index. Ultimately, the choice between black and white chia seeds comes down to personal preference.
If you’re looking for a nutritional powerhouse, go for black chia seeds. If you’re more concerned with taste, white chia seeds are the way to go.

How To Make Chia Seed Water
The ratio of chia seeds to water is important, so be sure to follow the instructions below. I like to add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to my water. I like to use a glass jar with a lid.
Shake the jar really well and let sit for about 10 minutes or until the seeds absorb enough water. Then I add lime juice from one lime and 1/4 teaspoon of agave nectar for sweetness. Shake again and drink.
Since the seeds become almost like a gel, it might take some getting used to. Another thing is that lime juice is an anti-inflammatory. All-round this detox water is super good for you.

Benefits Of Lime Water
Lime water has a host of benefits that you may not be aware of. For one, it’s a great way to get your daily dose of vitamin C.
Just one cup of lime water contains over half of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C. Vitamin C is essential for immunity, and it can also help to reduce inflammation and promote collagen production. Lime water is also a good source of electrolytes, which are important for hydration, muscular function, and blood pressure regulation.
And if that’s not enough, lime water can also help to boost your digestion and metabolism. So next time you’re feeling thirsty, reach for a glass of lime water instead of plain old H2O. Your body will thank you.
Don’t forget the pretty paper straws!
I hope you are able to drink more water and stay healthy!

Great recipe – thank you for sharing!! Could I use lemon instead of lime? I’ve heard it’s better for you.
can i soaked the chia seeds for half a day? like i dont drink once at a time…i will drink it throughout the whole day
Yes, I think that once the chia seeds have soaked in the water they should stay the same consistency. However, I have never really let them sit throughout the day so I am not sure. Give it a try and see what happens.
I am trying to find out how often to drink the mixture. I am trying to lose weight and the recipe said to mix 1Tsb. in 1/2 c water soak 30 mins. Then add 1c water to soaked seeds with lemon juice and honey if you want it sweet. Drink in morning on empty stomach.
But no other direction as to how often or how long to do this. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Deb
Hi Deb, I really don’t have a recommendation on how often to drink this. I am sure you could drink a glass once a day if you like. Chia seeds are high in protein but also in calories…so be careful of that if you are counting calories. Also, honey is sugar – so use sparingly if watching your weight not to overdo that as well.
Hey there, when drinking the water. Do can you just swallow the chia seeds or do you need to chew them?
is necesary use the agave? and can i replace the lime with lemon?
Hi, I want to try this ! Do you replace your breakfast for this drink or you still have breakfast after it?
Thank you!
Does, execive intake of lime water cause knee pain? I’m 55 and I’m feeling pain after regular consuming lime water early in morning empty stomach. Please share your suggestion
Hi Ankita,
I am not sure. I would consult your doctor with medical questions. Sorry, I can’t help you.
