Rainbows fit in with St. Patrick’s Day, Pride, or even a gender reveal party! You can even serve them at a luau or ocean-themed baby shower.

How To Make Rainbow Jello Shots

One of the most important things to remember about these shots is that you have to plan ahead for all the time it will take for each layer to set before you add the next color.

I used about six layers and let each layer rest for two hours before adding the next color. It really did take all day for me to make them. But the end result is definitely worth it!

Plus, when you make them in resealable cups, you can store them in the refrigerator overnight. I like to make them the day before the party and then they are ready to go the next day!

Other than the wait time between layers setting up, these are really simple jello shots. You don’t need to use flavored jello. In fact, flavored jello might not taste great when you add six different flavors together.

Best Type Of Alcohol For Rainbow Jello Shots

Honestly, you don’t have to use alcohol when you make rainbow jello shots. You can make them with just water.

If you want to spike them with alcohol, I suggest using just one type of alcohol in all six layers.

Rum is the best type of alcohol for rainbow jello shots. It has a mild flavor and tastes delicious with the condensed milk layer.

You could also use vodka instead of rum. It doesn’t have a strong flavor and mixes in really well with whatever you mix it with.

The main things that stands out about these jello shots are all the different colors! Let them be the star of the show, not the alcohol or the flavors.
