Best Liquor To Use In Rum Jello Shots

There are three different types of liquor in these blue Jello shots. That is a lot of punch in a little package.

I used equal parts coconut rum and Blue Curacao. Blue Curacao enhances the blue color of the berry blue Jello. It also enhances the citrus flavors of pineapple juice. These Jello shots taste extra sweet without needing any added sugar!

The chilled vodka is optional. I used half as much vodka as rum. It’s basically to give the shots a bit more liquor without overpowering them with rum flavors. If you like rum more than vodka, just replace the vodka with Malibu rum.

Whether you sample the liquor as you make the Jello shots is entirely up to you.

Blue Hawaiian Jello Shots Garnishes

Garnishing these cute little blue Hawaiian jello shots is the other fun part of making them! You don’t have to use all the garnishes as I did, but it sure makes them look extra festive if you do.

After the Jello shots chilled in the fridge long enough for the blue Jello to set completely, I topped them with whipped cream, toasted coconut flakes, maraschino cherries, and some tiny pineapple wedges.
