Tips for Styling an Eye-Catching Christmas Charcuterie Board

Styling an eye-catching and festive Christmas charcuterie board is all about creativity!

I love to start with a sturdy wooden board or tray—something that gives a rustic and cozy vibe, which is perfect for the holiday season. You can even use a tree-shaped board to add extra charm!

Now, when it comes to the goodies, balance is always key. I like to include a mix of colors, textures, and flavors.

For example, bright red strawberries, green grapes, and a handful of fresh rosemary sprigs add those classic Christmas colors!

One of my favorite garnishes is sugared cranberries—they’re sweet, tart, and look like little frosty ornaments on your board.

And of course, cheese is also essential, and I like to use a mix of soft and hard varieties, like creamy brie and sharp cheddar, to please everyone’s taste.

Pair these with different crackers or breadsticks, and you’ve got a solid base – I swear! I also love adding small bowls of nuts, jams, or honey to fill in spaces and give guests even more variety.

To make the board truly pop, I like to throw in some additional festive treats, like Christmas-themed cookies or chocolates, and even Christmas jello shots or martini. You can even add fun little decorations, like mini candy canes or ornaments, to give it that extra holiday spirit.

The best part about styling a charcuterie board is that there are no strict rules—just have fun with it! That’s why I also said how charcuterie boards are top contenders when it comes to versatility!

Popular Christmas Charcuterie Board Ingredients

When it comes to Christmas charcuterie boards, the ingredients also make the board more festive and delicious! I love choosing a mix of sweet, savory, and colorful items that not only taste amazing but also look gorgeous on the board.

As mentioned, cheese is always a crowd favorite, and for a Christmas charcuterie board, I like to include a variety (this is very important!).

Soft cheeses are perfect for spreading on crackers, while hard cheeses add a nice bite. To give it a holiday twist, I sometimes use cranberry-studded cheese for that pop of red, which looks so festive too!

Aside from that, you should never forget about fresh fruit! I always go for those vibrant, Christmas-sy colors. I love using pomegranate seeds (a staple!), red grapes, and green apples for a seasonal vibe. And let’s not forget dried fruits like figs and apricots—they’re sweet, chewy, and add great texture.

For a touch of sweetness, I like to add some holiday-themed desserts or treats like peppermint bark, reindeer chow, sugar-dusted gingerbread cookies, or even chocolate truffles. These festive touches always get people excited and make the board feel extra special.

To round things out, I love adding a variety of charcuterie meats like salami and prosciutto. They pair so well with the cheeses and crackers and give that rich flavor.

Lastly, don’t forget about the extras like nuts, olives, and charcuterie dips—these little additions can fill in any gaps on the board and keep things interesting!

With these popular ingredients, you can create a Christmas charcuterie board that’s festive, fun, and absolutely irresistible!
