And I’m not exaggerating when I say that they’re a total hit at every party I’ve hosted. If you’re celebrating a graduate, you’ll want these on your menu. Ready to make something memorable and tasty? Let’s jump into why I think you’ll love these too!

Why Should You Try This Unique Graduation Treat

Let’s be honest—graduation parties need chocolate. I don’t make the rules, but I do follow them very seriously. Chocolate Graduation Caps are one of my favorite party treats because they’re just the right mix of adorable and edible.

They always get attention! I love how people think they’re super fancy, even though they take almost no time to make. That’s my kind of kitchen magic.

These little caps look like they came straight from a bakery or Pinterest board, but you can whip them up in minutes. I like that I can make them the night before and impress everyone the next day!

What makes them even better is how customizable they are. I love picking out tassel colors to match school themes or just for fun.

My favorite is using rainbow strips because they’re festive and bright. Kids also love helping make them, especially the part where they “accidentally” eat the M&Ms. I honestly can’t blame them—I do the same.

These are a win every time. They’re cute, sweet, easy to make, and guaranteed to be a hit. I say, skip the store-bought treats this year. Go with something that feels homemade but doesn’t come with a baking meltdown.

How to Make These Chocolate Graduation Caps

You only need a few simple things: chocolate squares, mini peanut butter cups, chocolate frosting, rainbow candy strips, and mini M&Ms. That’s it! These are some of my favorite ingredients because they’re easy to find and ridiculously fun to work with.

Ingredients for chocolate graduation caps: Ghirardelli Chocolate squares, Reese's Unwrapped peanut butter cups, 1tub chocolate frosting, M&M mini candies, Rainbow Berry Air, and Heads Extremes.

Making Chocolate Graduation Caps is one of my favorite ways to prep for a party without losing my mind.

First, grab your chocolate squares and lay them out, logo side up. This makes them look polished, like you really planned things out. I always feel like a dessert pro at this point!

Next, take a peanut butter cup and add a small dab of frosting to the flat end. Press it gently into the center of the chocolate square. That’s your cap base—chocolate on chocolate. My dream combo.

Once that’s done, flip each cap over carefully. This part makes me feel fancy, like I’m prepping dessert for royalty or something.

Now, it’s time for the tassels, which is hands-down my favorite part. I like using rainbow candy strips because they’re colorful and fun.

Just cut a one-inch piece, then separate the colored strands. I always go for the orange ones, because orange candy is superior.

Stick the tassel on top with a tiny dab of frosting, then add a mini M&M to finish the look. It’s surprisingly satisfying.

They come together so quickly, but they look like you spent hours in the kitchen. Once they’re all assembled, pop them in the fridge until party time.

No baking. No stress. Just pure chocolate joy with a side of “wow, you made these?” I always keep a few aside for myself—because honestly, they’re too good to share completely.
