After Halloween, my kitchen table is covered with all of the candy that my children bring home – it will last them through Easter. They collected so much this year. Plus I have leftover candy that I bought to give out to the children but we were busy walking around the neighborhood and some of our candy was left. Anyway, I’ve got so much candy that will definitely last me for months. I don’t let me children eat it all right away…maybe one or two per day.

If you also have lots leftover Halloween candy consider making this post-Halloween candy recipe. It is so easy to make and requires only 3 ingredients: pretzels or crackers, chocolate and any type of candy. It took me only 15 minutes to prepare and the best part is that children can have fun and make this by themselves.

You can choose any type of candy for this project. I had some small peanut butter pieces that I paired with pretzels and chocolate. The saltiness of pretzel compliments the chocolate in this treat. Also, besides the chocolate being tasty it also acts a glue to hold the small chocolate pieces in place. After making them I realized they look like little pumpkin decorated with candies. A great Thanksgiving treat perhaps!

Also, to solidify the chocolate I put them in the freezer for 10 minutes and then after I removed them I couldn’t stop eating them. Small peanut butter pieces are rather plain and I found them to taste better with chocolate and the saltiness of the pretzels.

How much candy do you have in your home after Halloween?

  2. This is such a great idea. Plus, if you mention it to the kids beforehand they can save some candy instead of stuffing it all in their face in one day – hahaha.
