Halloween Twinkie Chocolate Bats

Who else is welcoming Fall with open arms besides me? I’m one of those people who gets ready for a new season pretty early because I just get too excited – I can’t contain it! And don’t get me started on Halloween…and how cute are these Twinkie Chocolate Bats!

Today, I’m going to walk you through how to create these adorable Twinkie Chocolate Bats. Nothing like chocolate bats to bring to a Halloween party or send to school with your kiddo as a treat. Surprisingly, they are super easy to create and of course delicious, too!

Halloween Twinkie Chocolate Bats

Ingredients

Makes 4 Twinkies

1 box of chocolate Twinkies

1 bag of Ghirardelli melting milk chocolate

1 cookie sheet fitted with wax paper

1 package of small edible eyes

1 disposable piping bag

Directions 

Unwrap the Twinkies and place them onto the cookie sheet

Place into the freezer for 10 minutes

Using a double boiler, melt the chocolate and stir until smooth

Dip the frozen Twinkie into the melted milk chocolate and fully coat

Once all have been fully coated with the chocolate set aside

Place two edible eyes onto the top part of the Twinkie for the eyes

Scoop the rest of the melted chocolate into the piping bag and cut a small part of the tip

On a bare part of the cookie sheet, pipe out 8 ‘wings’ for the bats

Place cookie sheet into the fridge for 20 minutes so that chocolate can harden 

Once the 20 minutes is up, lightly peel off the wings and insert them into the sides, creating your bat!
