Santa Nutter Butter Cookies

Santa Nutter Butter Cookies are one of those creative Christmas ideas that always make me smile every time I make them!

I love how fun and festive they look, turning a simple cookie into the cutest little Santa faces. They’re crunchy, sweet, and surprisingly easy to decorate, which makes them perfect for holiday baking with kids or friends.

I like how you can get creative with sprinkles, frosting, and candy melts to make each one unique.

These cookies aren’t just adorable, they’re also delicious and full of Christmas cheer.

Whether you’re preparing for a party, gifting homemade treats, or just craving something festive, Santa Nutter Butter Cookies are the perfect way to spread holiday joy!

Fun Ways to Decorate Your Santa Cookies

I love how decorating Santa Nutter Butter Cookies feels like turning snack time into a full-on Christmas craft session. It’s impossible not to smile when you’ve got cookies, melted chocolate, and a bunch of sprinkles in front of you.

One of my favorite ways to make these even more festive is by adding edible glitter to Santa’s hat—it gives him that magical North Pole sparkle that looks amazing on a dessert table.

You can also give each Santa a different personality. I like using candy eyes for that wide-eyed, “caught-eating-the-milk-and-cookies” expression.

For something extra funny, try giving your Santas different beard styles—some curly, some pointy…use your imagination.

You can even stick mini marshmallows along the hat’s edge for extra fluffiness or use coconut flakes if you want to make his beard look snow-dusted.

If you’re baking with kids (or kids at heart), let everyone design their own version—it’s hilarious seeing how each Santa ends up with a totally unique vibe.

Some look cute, others look mischievous, and a few… might even look like they’ve had too much hot cocoa! Either way, decorating these cookies is where all the fun and laughter happen.

How to Make Santa Nutter Butter Cookies

To make these Santa Nutter Butter Cookies, grab your lineup of delicious ingredients:

I love how simple yet festive these ingredients are—it already feels like Christmas before you even start.

Begin by melting the vanilla almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl until it’s silky and smooth. This part always makes my kitchen smell so sweet and cozy!

Next, dip one end of the cookie into the almond bark for Santa’s hat, then dip the other end for his fluffy beard. Let the excess drip off (or don’t, if you like extra coating—I usually can’t resist). Sprinkle red sanding sugar over the top to give Santa his bright red hat, and stick on a white chocolate chip at the edge for the puffball.

Then comes my favorite part—adding Santa’s face! Use a little melted almond bark to attach a red candy for his nose and two mini chocolate chips for his eyes. It’s like watching Santa come to life, one cookie at a time.

When all your Santas are dressed and ready, place them on parchment paper and let them chill for about an hour. I know the waiting feels like forever, but once they’re set, you’ll have the cutest Christmas cookies ever—crunchy, sweet, and full of holiday charm.

Whether you’re serving them at a party or sneaking one (or five) straight from the tray, these Santa Nutter Butter Cookies never fail to spread joy!
