Skinny Homemade Salsa Recipe
I can’t really pick out my favorite thing about this recipe. I love that there are literally ZERO WW points in each serving. That means I can actually enjoy some chips and salsa without worrying about how it affects weight loss (or maintenance).

I also love how insanely easy this is. You just chop up the ingredients and mix it together. It takes just 5 minutes from start to finish.
Healthy Salsa
The main ingredient in this recipe is tomatoes, and tomatoes are actually really good for you. Tomatoes are really high in the antioxidant lycopene, which has been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease and cancers. Plus, it is also really high in vitamin C (for your immune system), and potassium (for your muscles and digestion).
Whole Ingredients
When you make salsa at home, you know exactly what is in it and you can control how spicy or mild it is. Here’s what I used in my salsa:
- Tomatoes
- Garlic Cloves
- Limes
- Red Onion
- Cilantro
- Jalapeños
How To Store Homemade Salsa
Store this homemade salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to a week. The only thing I want to warn you about is the cilantro. If you add fresh cilantro to it and try to store it, the cilantro will soak up the juices from the salsa and turn soft.
I suggest adding just the amount of cilantro you think you will eat to the top of the salsa and removing it before you store any leftovers.
Best Blender For Salsa
I use my blender for so many things. Yes, you really could just chop this up like a pico de gallo, but I love how much less work it is to add everything to the blender and pulse it a few times. No mess, no worries! My favorite blender of all is the Ninja Professional. It can do everything from smoothies to soups! And it fits easily on my countertop too.
