That’s what this tequila mojito is for me. It’s simple and tasty – and there is really no way to screw it up. Even beginner mixologists will be able to ace this drink the first time.

Simple And Easy Mojito

A classic mojito is usually made by combining club soda and rum. Then, they sweeten it and top it with fresh mint. It’s a refreshing taste of the islands. My recipe still has just 5 ingredients, so it is easy to remember.

Can you use tequila in a mojito?

Yes! But remember the classic mojito originated in Cuba, and rum is essential to its flavor. However many enjoy this mojito recipe with tequila!

I recently decided to experiment with the classic mojito recipe, and I have to say, the results were pretty great! Instead of using rum, I decided to try tequila. Tequila is clear like rum, so the drink still looked the same. But tequila has a stronger flavor than rum, and it’s not nearly as sweet.

Overall, I was really pleased with how my tequila mojito turned out. If you’re looking for a refreshing summer cocktail with a little bit of a kick, I highly recommend giving this recipe a try!

Tequila Mojito Ingredients

If you enjoy making mixed drinks, you probably already have these ingredients in your pantry or in the refrigerator.

You’ll need fresh mint leaves. Not only do you need them to muddle, but you’ll garnish the glass with some extra mint leaves too.

If you have fresh limes, use them. Fresh-squeezed lime juice has so much more flavor than bottled.

I used a simple syrup to sweeten the mojito. You can make your own simple syrup by boiling water and granulated sugar, but it is just easier to buy simple syrup from the store. I used a plain, unflavored kind. That way the rest of the ingredients stand out.

When it comes to tequila, just use your favorite brand! Most people like to use silver tequila in their mixed drinks. It has a light enough taste to mix in with the rest of the flavors.

Finally, top it all off with club soda. This is what gives the mojito delightful bubbles.

How To Muddle The Ingredients

Muddling is what releases the flavors from the mint into the tequila. The best way to do this is with a tool called a muddler. It has the perfect shape to crush the herbs and release their aromatics.

If you don’t have a muddler, you can use a mortar and pestle or even a tablespoon.

How To Garnish A Tequila Cocktail

Top this drink with some fresh mint leaves. Then, cut a thin-sliced lime and place one of the slices on the edge of the glass.

You can even serve this drink with your favorite little umbrella.
