Whether you want to create a festive cocktail for an upcoming holiday party or you just want to celebrate the season with someone you love, this mojito is pure perfection!

There is a lot going on with it and it looks super impressive. In fact, as you serve this to your friends and family, they will wonder which bartender academy you graduated from!

This is a lovely way to celebrate the holiday season! The dark red pomegranate seeds accentuate the soft green mint leaves. It’s the perfect drink for one of my favorite holidays.

Classic Mojito Flavors

At its core, a basic mojito is made with rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and fresh mint. From there, you can add all sorts of different things to match the current season or theme.

How To Make A Christmas Mojito

To make a Christmas mojito, I wanted to incorporate not only the red and green colors that I see everywhere but the shapes and shades too.

The pomegranate arils remind me of holly berries. The mint brings to mind romantic mistletoe! Together they are basically a Christmas party in a glass.

Ingredients

All the exact ingredient amounts are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. Here is a quick overview of what you’ll need from the store.

  • 8 mint leaves
  • Lime juice (fresh sqeezed if possible)
  • Simple syrup
  • Cranberry juice
  • White rum
  • PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
  • Soda water
  • Crushed ice
  • Pomegranate arils
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Suggested Kitchen Tools

I suggest investing in:
Mojito glasses
Shot glass
Muddler

It will make the drink so much easier to mix.

How To Muddle Without a Muddler

The entire goal of muddling the mint leaves and pomegranate arils is to extract the flavors. A muddler is the easiest way, but if you don’t have one, try one of these options:

  • Mortar and Pestle
  • Tamper
  • Spoon and Bowl

How To Measure An Ounce Without A Shot Glass

Even using a shot glass isn’t always accurate. Some shot glasses hold one ounce, others hold 1.5 ounces and some are even bigger and hold 2 ounces!

There are four really easy ways to measure out an ounce of alcohol, and all of them are pretty accurate.

  • A tablespoon is about 1/2 liquid ounce. So just pour 2 tablespoons for an ounce.
  • There are 9 teaspoons in one ounce.
  • Very bottom line on a red Solo cup. Yes, that really is one ounce.
  • Medicine cup – it should have ounce measurements right on it.

Another not-so-accurate way is to count to two with Mississippi as you pour (one Mississippi, two Mississippi). Each “one Mississippi” count will give you roughly 1/2 ounce of alcohol.

Easy Christmas Cocktail

The best part is that the muddling is the most difficult part of the cocktail. Everything else just involves pouring and stirring.

Then, have fun garnishing with fresh mint leaves, lime slices, and pomegranate arils.

How To Make It A Mocktail

It’s pretty easy to make a virgin Christmas mojito. Here’s how to mix this drink without any alcohol.

  • 8 mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 2 tbsp Honey simple syrup
  • Pomegranate Arils
  • 1 tbsp Cranberry Juice
  • 1 tbsp Pomegrante Juice
  • Soda Water
  • Crushed Ice

Then, muddle the mint and pomegranate arils and leave them at the bottom of the glass. Stir the rest of the ingredients on top and mix. Garnish with more mint leaves and lime slices.
