What Is A Strawberry Mimosa?
A mimosa is a popular cocktail made by mixing champagne and orange juice. Since it is bright orange, it’s named after the mimosa Acacia dealbata plant, which has the same bright coloring.
Mimosas are most often served at breakfast or brunch, since orange juice is a common breakfast drink.
So, a strawberry mimosa is the same drink, but with some added homemade strawberry puree.
And this puree is made from three simple ingredients – real strawberries, lemon juice, and some sugar. That’s it!

What Does Strawberry Mimosa Taste Like?
The first thing you’ll notice when you take the first sip is the tickle from the champagne bubbles.
The flavor reminds me of a strawberry orange juice. It’s a burst of citrus and the strawberry puree actually enhances the sweet notes in the orange juice.
How To Make A Strawberry Mimosa
To make a strawberry mimosa, I suggest using a food processor. Place the strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar in the food processor and let it create a smooth puree.
You can use either fresh or frozen strawberries. Just make sure to thaw the frozen berries first and pat them with a paper towel so they don’t water down the puree.
Then, place the strawberry puree at the bottom of your champagne flute. Next, fill the glass 1/3 of the way with orange juice.
Finally, top it off with your favorite brand of champagne or prosecco.

What Is The Best Alcohol For Mimosas?
People usually use champagne in mimosas.
But you can use any kind of white sparkling wine that you have. A lot of people also like to use cava because its crisp flavor pairs really well with the sharp orange juice.
How do you make a virgin or alcohol-free mimosa?
Just replace the champagne or sparkling wine with Sprite. Keep the strawberry puree and orange juice the same.

Either way, this strawberry mimosa will transport you to a beach at sunrise!
