Honeycomb Wine Glass Charms
Here is a simple way to add a little party decoration to a wine glass or any stemmed glassware. Recently, I had a Luau Party and bought a bunch of honeycomb straws for my drinks. Knowing I had a lot of extras {and while sleeping or I should say thinking in the middle of the night} I came up with this clever little idea to accent my wine glasses – Honeycomb Wine Glass Charms!
These are the cute little straws. The pineapple straws came from the Dollar Tree and the hula girls came from Marshall’s.
The decoration is attached to the straw with a small paper loop. I either slid the decoration off the straw or ripped the paper loop to take them apart. Once removed, I did tear off the paper loop off the decoration…it added bulk as I wrapped it around the stem of the glass.
The honeycomb decorations come with little paper tabs to “lock” and hold it open. Because the stem of the glassware is a little thicker than the straw, the tabs didn’t hold very well. I placed a little glue on the ends and clipped with a clothespin, holding them closed until dry…they lasted all night!
Then served them on a vintage metal tray – they were a big hit with the guests!
