Repurposed Chair – Vintage Chair Drink Stand
Call it upcycled or repurposed…this old chair makes a beautiful, interesting Vintage Chair Drink Stand! A great conversation piece!
I’m not sure how to start this post. Mostly because my husband has wanted me to ditch this chair for the last ten years! At nearly 100 years old, and a garage sale rescue from my mother’s attic, I knew it was destined for greatness. And I was right!!
Just the other day, I had a little get-together, using my Vintage Chair Drink Stand to hold extra bottles of wine for my guests! It grabbed everyone’s attention with many lovely comments! You can make one too…it was so easy!
As you can see, it was a diamond in the rough. I didn’t want to paint it…sand it…or change it too much.
All it needed was a little TLC. I turned to Old English Lemon Oil. Even says on the label “Tested for over 100 years.” Worked perfect for bringing out the natural wood color!
I suppose I could have made my mini chalkboard sign, but I bought a cute pack of pre-made ones that suited my needs…adding a few pretty ribbons!
I found the perfect galvanized bucket with handles – nice and deep for tall bottles! Love the rope handles.
Love love my repurposed old Vintage Chair Into A Drink Stand!
This is so adorable! I think I need to have a party just to use this idea. Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
Thank you, Megan! I have use my drink stand for two parties with many compliments from my guests!
How creative! Absolutely love this idea 😀 I would love for you to share this post at my Create & Share Link Party tonight (7:00 PM MST)! Hope to see you there 🙂 http://designsbymissmandee.blogspot.com/
Thank you, Mandee, I will try to stop by!
This is such a clever idea!
Thank you, Carmody! A fun idea for a party!
Is the bucket wide enough, that it’s just sitting in the hole? Or is it suspended by something?
It’s gorgeous!! Definitely on the lookout for a similar chair!
Thanks, Tara! I love my chair drink stand too! Yes, the bucket was wide enough at the top to sit perfectly in the chair. I didn’t need to attach it with anything. This also make it easy to dump the ice out at the end of the party…lifts right out!
This is such a great idea. I love how it turned out and I can’t believe the job the Old English did on the wood!
Thank you, Jillian! The Old English was perfect to restore the wood on the chair…it brought it new life!
I so love this upcycle!! And what a great conversation piece at a party, too. I featured this at our link party this morning. Be sure to stop by and grab a feature button!

I love this idea! What a great way to use something that you could have laying around. Thank you for linking up to Party Time and we hope to see you again next week!
So cute!! I would love to serve drinks like that at my next party!! Now I will be on the look out for a chair with a round seat!!
Good luck, Ann! It shouldn’t be too hard to find the perfect chair!
Great project!!!!
Thank you, Lindsay!
Love! Such a cool and clever idea!
Thanks you, Leslie! I am just happy I found a good use for it so it didn’t end up in the trash 😉
Ok… now someone has a bad case of the smarts! I love this idea!
We have just bought a historic home out in the country and are thinking of offering the grounds for weddings… I am pinning this to my inspiration board… how great would a row of these beauties be for an outdoor event!
How cool would to have several mismatched chairs offering different drinks in each one! I always thought it would be fun to have a unique wedding venue. I hope that works out for you!
Great idea Susan! What a fun thing for parties. Plus, I love that it’s an antique/vintage.

Thanks, Shannon – it was a great conversation piece!
This chair bev station is quite possibly the cutest thing I’ve ever seen done with an old chair! Sharing on my FB page tonight! 🙂
That means a lot, Donna, coming from you! I am sure you have seen a lot of repurposed chairs! I have to say I am delighted with it as well! Thanks for the FB share…I will be sharing your Junk File Sorter tomorrow!
I am crushing on that chair! I love your idea, it is so fun! Tell your hubby he was crazy to want you to throw it away!
Thank you so much DeDe! My husband would like me to throw everything away! He doesn’t have my vision!
I love this project! I would love it if you could share this at the A Little Bit of Everything Link Up Party at Mom Home Guide! There is still time to link up!
Susan –
I think you did an amazing job giving that beautiful old chair a new purpose! I’m so glad you didn’t ditch it! I have recently started a new link up party with Refresh Living and Vintage Refined and we would love to have you stop by and link with us! The party starts every Tuesday @7pm CST.
I hope to see you there!

Thank you, Cat! I’m glad I found a new purpose for this old chair! It’s a great conversation piece at parties. I will try to stop by your link party!
Hi! Where did you get the bucket?
I bought it at the Tuesday Mornings store two years ago. I’m not sure if you would be able to find it again…
Great site you have here but I was curious if you knew of
any message boards that cover the same topics discussed here?
I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get responses from other experienced people that share the same interest.
If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks a lot!
Too clever and so much fun! Thanks for posting!
This was easy to make. I make something for our annual family reunion, for an auction we have. The money goes to first year college students for books.
I’m glad you liked this project – it is super easy to make! I actually use the chair and bucket for different things during the year – holiday decorations and to display plants.
