Woodsy Spring Decor Idea
I really like to bring the outdoors in with my seasonal decorating. Recently, I created this Woodsy Spring Decor over my kitchen lighting. A few years ago I collected a few branches from the woods and spray painted them white. It was more of a dusting of paint, so you could see the darkness of the branches showing through. I usually use them to decorate at Christmas…they look wintery. For some reason I didn’t get them out this year?
Woodsy Spring Decor Idea
As I started thinking of Spring decor…the branches came to mind! I added a few “budding” spring branches to the real ones to give it a little life and color. These pretty crackled glass eggs I found at TJ Maxx and I thought the silvery eggs worked well with the branches. I used Jutte to hang the eggs at varying levels from the lower branch. They will be easy to remove after the Easter holiday! Happy Spring!
I love that something like this can easily be transformed season to season with just a few different embellishments. Around the holidays, I can add leaves, or winter greenery, and even Christmas ornaments. For Valentine’s Day, it could have beautiful pink, red, and white ribbon and some hearts. The possibilities with this are absolutely endless, and the best part is it is so frugal!
WARNING: One thing I do want to mention. You would never want old dry branches to come in contact with your light bulbs as there would be risk of fire. The bulbs I have in my island light fixtures are Compact Florescent Lamps (CFL) Bulbs. They burn 70% cooler than incandescent bulbs. Also, my bulbs sit down low into these bucket style fixtures, keeping the branches a good distance away from the bulb. No fires please!!
Notice I used some beautiful flowers for this Spring decor idea. Leaving them loosely draped makes it appear even more authentic. You could include any greenery or flowers you prefer, and mix and match for various holidays and themes! I just adore any craft that is versatile like this!
The best home decor comes from using simple things to enhance the beauty you already have in your home. I love these light fixtures, but they are a bit plain. Elevating my kitchen look by adding some Spring decor themed items really helps the room come together perfectly for an Easter brunch, or a Spring tea with my friends!
Making fun Spring decor is a great way to get into the mood to celebrate these often forgotten or overlooked holidays. Things like Easter are focused on eggs and bunnies, but they should also remind you of the beauty of the Spring warmth and new growth outside! I love this idea for that reason!
