Here is my little secret! I TRULY have used this product for years and love it. It is simple and can be used from year to year.
See below how easy it is to use!
This is the same product but marketed for plants on Amazon… VELCRO Brand Ties
IT REALLY WORKS GREAT!
First, cut a piece long enough to wrap around your railing about one and a half times. Place it under the garland and banister wrapping it around and press to secure the velcro tie to itself. It’s velcro, it sticks to itself!! It can’t get any easier!
From the backside of the banister, it looks like this. Not so pretty, but see how I mask it…
I buy a few silk flowers or poinsettias, and tuck them under my bows and into the garland, placing the poinsettias over the velcro ties.

I am literally at a conference for Annie Sloan stockists and retailers and painted stairs were one of our covered topics. So I think you are really onto something here, Kris! In addition to doing patterns, remember you could also just paint the backs of stairs an interesting color or series of colors….Just learned about Annie Sloans floor lacquer – which is a thin, clear coat that was developed to be compatible with her Chalk Paint making it now suitable for use on floors. HOORAY!
I truly love this garland, the colors are so bright and festive. Have a great Thanksgiving.
