Supplies you’ll need: hairbrush, Christmas Tree Braid Kit
Time: 10 minutes.
Step 1. Pull the top of the hair back, secure with elastic.
Step 2. Section off half of the hair from the top ponytail.
Step 3. Take half the hair from the ponytail and braid, adding hair into the strand on the left only. Add hair for 4-5 stitches then stop adding hair, braiding out another few stitches and securing with an elastic.
Step 4. Repeat step 3 on the other side, adding hair in only on the right of the braid.
Step 5. Take your piece of ribbon. Gently pull the top most stitch of your braid on each side up so that you can slide the ends of the ribbon down through. Pull the ribbon so that you have an even amount on each side.
Step 6. Continue lacing the ribbon through the each stitch of the braid, alternating sides, as if you were lacing up a shoe. At the bottom, you will pull the two separate ends of the braids together, secure with an elastic, then wrap the ends of the ribbon around so they cover the elastic and tie. Decorate the style with the braid kit of your choice.
You can finish with hairspray if you like or dress it up by adding curls.
The Christmas Tree Braid Kit give you everything you need to do the hairstyle. It comes with step by step instructions, ribbon, hair elastics, the star for the top of the tree, and your choice of decoration: Garland, Ornaments or LED Lights. The Ornaments look a little dressier while the LED Lights really stand out! The LED Lights that you get in my kit are the best for this style – they don’t get hot and are safe to use in the hair, the battery box is lightweight and small – making it easy to wear and easy to hide in the style – and the light strand is the perfect length for the style.
Don’t have long enough hair to do this hairstyle? Don’t worry, I have a perfect alternative for short hair – check out my Accent Christmas Tree Braid tutorial. It’s another style that you can use the Christmas Tree Braid Kit on.

Linking to these wonderful parties!
That looks really lovely. I’d love to do that for my daughter – but she doesn’t have the patience to even sit down for 5 minutes for me to tie her hair!
So pretty!!!
This is sooo striking, pretty, and unique! I’m going to show this post to my college-age daughter when she returns home next week…I bet she would love for me to do her hair like this for one of the many festive parties she’ll attend! Thanks for great holiday hair inspiration! –Ginger
This is the cutest hairstyle I’ve ever seen! I love the creativity of using garland, ornaments, or lights. So cute!! Thanks for linking up with us at the Share the Wealth Sunday link up!!
This would be great for a school or holiday party. The other little girls are going to be jealous. Thanks for sharing on Sunday’s Best Linkup.
I have two teen daughters and I know they would have loved this idea when they were younger (and actually, they might still love it). Thanks for sharing at the #ThisIsHowWeRoll Link Party.
That is so cool!!! I want to do this with my daughter’s hair!!!!
Thanks for sharing at Blogger Spotlight!
I have two teen daughters and can imagine how much they would have loved this braid when they were younger. Wait, I think they’d still find this festive. Can’t wait to share it with them (and spend some precious time with them braiding their hair). Congrats, you’re featured this week at the #ThisIsHowWeRoll Link Party.
