Free Printable Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes
On a whim, I created these Free Printable Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes for my kids to fill with treats to give out to friends this month. It’s no surprise, they loved them! So now I get to share them with you.
Plan The Perfect Party With This Halloween Party Planner!
I have two adorable kids, they are still pretty young, and although they love spooky Halloween things (we have lots of skulls, spiders and cobwebs), I still need to make things not-too-scary so they will be able to sleep in their own beds through the rest of the year. These Free Printable Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes were perfect for a spooky, but not too-spooky, treat.
My son was so excited to play with the coffins, I am sure I will find all kinds of action figures and little dolls in them in the weeks to come. He wanted me to make one for him that said “RIP” because he just learned what that meant from seeing it on all the tombstone decorations around. So I did make a second design for him. Yeah, I’m a sucker for that little man!
To make these boxes, you will want to print them on cardstock. Then cut along the solid dark gray lines. I like to score the dotted gray lines before folding them, it makes a cleaner fold. If you don’t have a fancy paper scorer (I don’t), you can use my trick. I use a ruler and the tip of a metal nail file to score my paper crafts. And if I break a nail, I can easily fix it then move on.
Fold along all the dotted lines, then secure the tabs with some glue. I used a small dot of hot glue on each tab and it dried quickly so I could move on to the next tab fast. The lid should sit tightly over the base of the coffin.
Now you can fill your Free Printable Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes with your favorite Halloween treats. Our family is partial to popcorn and we can’t get enough of this 10 minute Soft & Chewy Caramel Popcorn. Add your favorite Halloween candies and you will have the perfect treat!
