Photo Friday #4 – Blooming Iris
This weeks Photo Friday #4 are these beautiful Blooming iris that are blooming in my yard! The weather was just perfect this week for them to bloom all at once…not too hot…not too cold!
There is a bit of a story about these iris. Our new home sits on the property that was once owned by friends of the family that was sold to a developer. When we were building our first home, 25 years ago, my mother’s friend dug these bulbs out of her garden and gave them to me to grow in our yard. After ten years we built a second home. So, I dug the bulbs out of the yard and planted them to enjoy in the yard of our new home. With family needs changing, we built our third home, and once again I dug and transplanted the bulbs into our current yard. Only this time, it was the same property that they had originated from.
I like to think that these flowers come full circle and are back home where they belong. The friends of my parents have since passed, but when I see these flowers, I fondly remember them!
Enjoy!
