Create A Fall Window Box
Are you ready for Fall? I don’t think I am ever ready for Summer to end, but somehow it is easy to move into the next season! I was inspired to Create A Fall Window Box!
My house sits back from the road, and because of that, it is hard to see my flowers or my front porch. I bought this beautiful iron window box this Summer so I could add a splash of color to the house with flowers. After pulling them out last week, I redecorated the window box for Fall using silk greens and pumpkin picks from JoAnn Fabrics. It is bright and colorful…and definitely shows from the road!
I left the dirt from the flowers in the pots to secure the silk leaves and pumpkin picks.

So perfect for Fall! I love the iron box to hold the pots, perfect! xo
Thanks Tanya, I love my iron window box too!
I love this! If I had a window box, I would absolutely do this! We’re renting so buying isn’t even an option, but I will remember this for the future!
It was so easy to create, but adds a real splash of color to the house!
How did you get the iron box to stay on your brick house? I have a similar one and have vinyl siding and I would love to hang it under my kitchen window but can’t use any nails or screws.
Hi Karen,
Unfortunately, I used four 3″ mortar screws! This iron box was very heavy…my husband didn’t think it would stay in place…so far it is still up. I don’t have any suggestions for you except to google it to see if another solution comes up. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Susan, this is just gorgeous! I have some planter boxes on my front porch that I may very well do this with. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration!
Thank you, Elizabeth! I was watering my summer flowers in the box yesterday thinking it was time to switch over to Fall. It looked nice all the way through Thanksgiving!
I’ve been into window boxes ever since we went to Savannah. I love the fall flair to them. Adding some to our home is on the list for next summer.
