Mardi Gras Party Fundraiser
The other night I attended a great Mardi Gras charity fundraiser. With my little point and shoot camera I was able to capture many of the fantastic decorations that made this a fun event. A huge hotel ballroom can be a little boring with many large blank walls and high ceilings.
There were many black street poles decorated with masks, hats, beads, and boas throughout the reception area. Large life size black musician silhouettes filled the blank walls. Bright lights swirled shapes of color on the silhouettes. Jugglers entertained us with their tricks as a parade of musicians made their way through the crowd. All very fun and festive!
There were two candy buffet tables for all the guest to sample or to take home a treat.
The large ballroom was filled with oval shaped tables all adorned with many masks, beads and hats. Boas hung on the backs of all the ladies chairs and there were jester hats for all the men. Everyone immediately put on an assortment of things. The centerpieces were large gold face masks with large purple and green plums on top. They were attached to tall gold stands…very impressive when you looked around the room. The raspberry mouse dessert had a square white chocolate on top with a mask imprinted on the front.
