Jack Skellington's Fruity Nightmare Plate

Celebrate Halloween with Jack Skellington’s Fruity Nightmare Plate—a spooky, healthy, and delicious fruit platter perfect for parties and family nights.
Servings: 1 Fruit Plate

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2- inch thick watermelon circles with rind and seedless
  • 1/2 cup cherries
  • 3/4 cup grapes
  • 1 small kiwi
  • 1 orange
  • 1/3 cup blackberries
  • Edible flowers like chamomile, to serve
  • Dill for greenery and spooky effect
  • 1 tsp balsamic reduction or blackberry jam

Instructions

  • Use the first watermelon circle to make Jack's face. Use a toothpick to outline the eyes and scarred mouth and cut them out with a thin knife. Use a drinking straw to add nose holes. Dab excess juice off Jack and transfer to a serving board. Brush the scarred mouth with balsamic reduction for added spookiness.
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut out hearts from the second circle. Cut them in half. Bring the ghosts to life - add holes for eyes and a mouth with a straw.
  • Thread blackberries and green grapes onto mini skewers.
  • Cut oranges and kiwis into circles and place them around the perimeter of the board at the top. Add skewers and ghosts. Fill the empty spaces with cherries and grapes.
  • Decorate the composition with edible flowers, sprigs of dill or mint and serve.

Notes

This plate is easily scalable. Assemble a small portion for a cozy evening at home or make a huge composition for a party.
Involve the children, let them participate in the decoration! Cut out faces from fruit and turn watermelons into ghosts.
This is not only tasty and healthy, but also turns into creative entertainment that unites the whole family.
