DIRECTIONS FOR CUPCAKES
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line cupcake pan with the liners.
In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix, butter, and milk and mix until combined.
Using a medium ice cream scoop, scoop the batter into the cupcake liners and fill about 3/4 of the way full.
Bake in the oven for about 21 minutes.
Pull out and place on the side to cool.
In a standing mixer, combine the butter, powder sugar, vanilla, and the heavy whipping cream.
Mix on medium speed until stiff and creamy.
If you still see powdery pebbles, add-in 2 more tbsp heavy whipping cream.
Continue to mix until stiff and creamy.
Divide the frosting into three bowls and add the red food dye into one bowl and the black into another bowl, leaving the third bowl of frosting plain.
Scoop the red frosting into one piping bag and the black frosting into another.
Using a butter knife, frosting your cooled cupcake using the plain frosting.
You want the top of the frosting on the cupcake to be flat and smooth.
Using the red frosting, pipe an outline around the top of the cupcake.
Pipe on lines inside the circle going horizontal and vertical to make squares.
Alternating between squares, fill in a few to make a "Plaid" look.
Place 3 whopper candies in the middle of the top of the cupcake to create the ant body.
Using the black frosting, pipe on legs and his eyes.
