How To Make Cucumber Water

How do you make water taste good? If you struggle to drink enough water, then try this recipe. It has flavor without any extra sugar or calories. The cucumber and mint combine to cool you off and quench your thirst.

Use Fresh Ingredients

The secret to my cucumber water is using fresh ingredients. The fresher, the better it tastes! In fact, mint is one of those herbs you can grow on your window sill and pluck whenever you need it.

It literally has fresh cucumbers and a few sprigs of mint.

How Long Does It Take Cucumber & Mint to Infuse the Water?

It all depends on how much water you are making. If you are making just one glass at a time it should only take the cucumber water about 10 minutes to completely fill with flavor.

Give it a stir or gentle shake, you will get the flavors to infuse into your water faster.

If you are making an entire pitcher, it will take longer, about 1-8 hours.

Can You Make It Without Mint?

If you don’t have any fresh mint, don’t worry! This water still tastes just as amazing without it. I prefer it with both the cucumber and mint because it has a bright flavor. A glass of just cucumber water is pretty refreshing all by itself too.

Easy Shortcut – Use An Infusion Pitcher

Have you seen these? They are a water pitcher with an insert. You can fill the tube with any ingredients you want and it infuses the water with flavor. Fill the infusion pitcher with cucumber and mint and by morning you’ll have a really refreshing drink.

How To Make An Entire Pitcher of Cucumber Water

If you want to make an entire pitcher, here is what you will need.

Ingredients

  •     1 small cucumber, cleaned and sliced
  •     2 sprigs fresh mint, washed
  •     10 cups of water, enough to fill your pitcher over half-way

Instructions

  1. Place the cucumber slices and mint sprigs in the pitcher.
  2. Pour water into the pitcher.
  3.  Toss it in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to infuse. I recommend anywhere from 1 – 8 hours.  The longer it hits, the more flavor you will get.
  4. When serving, add ice to the glass.

Notes:

Feel free to add more cucumber slices or fresh mint if you prefer!  The great news about this refreshing water is that you can easily adjust it to your taste.
