With kids in school, there are often class parties around Halloween.  If your school doesn’t allow those celebrations, then you may find that making these for your own personal Halloween party is the way to go.  Regardless of why you make them, I can guarantee your kids will love helping you with decorating and eating them afterward.

1 box of chocolate ding dongs
3 bags of green Sixlets
1 bag of purple Sixlets
1 container of small edible eyes
leaf green, red, orange, and yellow gel color
4 piping bags with #2 tips
cookie sheet fitted with wax paper

Witches Cauldron Semi-Homemade Halloween Treat

This Witches Cauldron Semi-Homemade Halloween Treat is going to be a hit with everyone at your Halloween party!

Equipment

  • 4 pipings bags with #2 tips
  • Cookie sheet fitted with wax or parchmant paper

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate ding dongs
  • 3 bags of green sixlets
  • 1 bag of purple sixlets
  • 1 container of small edible eyes
  • 1 cup powder sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • gel food coloring leaf green, red, orange, and yellow

Instructions

ICING DIRECTIONS

  • Using a mixer, combine the egg whites, powder sugar, vanilla, cream of tartar, and mix on medium speed until stiff peaks form. About 5-7 minutes.
  • Split the royal icing into 4 bowls, and add a few drops of color into each bowl: one color per bowl.
  • Scoop the icing into each bag:

DIRECTIONS TO DECORATE

  • Unwrap ding dongs and place onto the cookie sheet.
  • Using the red piping bag, pipe on the red part of the flames on the bottom of the ding dong.
  • Using the orange piping bag, pipe an orange edging around the red flames.
  • Repeat the same step with the yellow piping bag.
  • Using a toothpick, pull the colors together to create a fire look.
  • Using the green piping bag, up on the top, pipe on the witches potion.
  • Using the green and purple Sixlets, place them along the green piping.
  • Add in some eyes for a spooky look.
