Goodwill Purse Upcycle Makeover
I am always dropping off stuff to the Goodwill {not enough for my husbands liking} but I try to clean out the things I no longer need. What I didn’t realize is what treasures you can find there for just a few dollars. I think the day I bought this purse I also found a wire teacup that I turned into this Wire Teacup Garden Stake…I adore it by my Garden!
So, you see, I love a DIY trash to treasure project like this Goodwill Purse Upcycle Makeover – it was a great Thrift Store Find! It was easy to create this fun fashion accessory with a few extra dollars!

You only need a few supplies for this thrift store find…
SUPPLIES
Fabric | Fabric-Tac Glue | Scissors | Paper | Pencil
There are lots of great fabrics out there like these Vintage Fabrics, Quilting Fabrics or Floral Fabrics! It’s hard to choose! I actually used a retro flower quilting fabric in the blue and green tones because I wear a lot of jeans and thought it would be a fun “going out” purse!
First, whip of any dirt or oils with a damp cloth. Possibly spritz the cloth with a light cleaning solution.
I then made a paper templet or pattern using copy paper. The surface of the purse was hard so it was easy to hold the paper in place {or tape} and outline the area to be covered.
Once I had the templet cut out, I folded my fabric in half and laid the pattern on top securing it to the fabric with pins…if need be, use tape. Because I wanted to fold my edges under all the way around the fabric, I cut leaving an extra 1/4″ all the way around the pattern. That way my fabric was a little larger all away around by about 1/2″. Hope that makes sense?! I cut both layers at the same time.
Then I used my Fabric-Tac Glue and glued the edge back under the wrong side by about 1/4″ all the way around. Let dry…this glue is usually fast drying.
Then glue to the purse or whatever surface, project or clothing you are upcycling! What an awesome new clothing accessory! You got to love the Goodwill!
