Halloween Black and White Enameled Vase

Hey there! Alexis here from Persia Lou. I’m happy to be back today at Oh My! Creative sharing one of my latest black and white Halloween-y projects. There’s been a whole lot of black and white Halloween going on over at my house, and I knew I wanted a little black and white floral arrangement to add to my Halloween vignette. I picked up a little glass vase and some silk flowers at the dollar store to make over into this Halloween Black and White Enameled Vase.

I started off by turning my clear vase into a beautiful white, enameled vase. I used white enamel acrylic paint, and basically followed the directions on the bottle. First, I cleaned the inside of the vase using rubbing alcohol. When the vase was dry, I just squirted the paint right into my vase, and used my paint brush to spread it around.

I wanted the vase to be really opaque, so I added a second coat of paint after the first had dried completely. Once the second coat of paint was dry, I put the vase in a 350 degree oven for thirty minutes, then turned the oven off and let the vase cool in the oven.

All done! I’m so happy with it. Painting the inside of the vase gives it a really nice glossy, enameled look. Of course, this vase will be used for more than just Halloween decor, but right now she’s sitting pretty holding some dark blooms.

I took my dollar store flowers and gave them several coats of flat black spray paint, and they were all ready for Halloween.

Viola! A pretty little Halloween bouquet. (If you like the Harry Potter printable above, you can download it here for free!)
