Happy New Year, friends! It’s Alexis from Persia Lou back with a quick little project for a fresh start – Printable Toy Organization Tags!

Does anyone else go slightly crazy around the New Year? Maybe it’s a reaction to the excess of the holiday season, but I basically just want to throw everything away. I’ve managed to clear out quite a bit of clutter and junk over the past couple weeks (and don’t worry I’ve been donating it not throwing it in the garbage), and it is so liberating! Part of that de-junking process is organizing the stuff that makes the cut.

We have a fairly decent toy organization system in place, but my kids have not been super successful putting everything back where it belongs. I have been wanting to clearly label all of the baskets and tubs so that even my non-reading three-year-old knows exactly where everything should go.

Here’s my solution. I started off by doing a few little watercolors of types of toys that we have boxes and baskets for. I scanned the watercolors into the computer and printed them off on white cardstock to make tags.

A hole punch and a little ribbon later, my project was almost done. I tied the tags onto the handles of the fabric baskets. For the smaller tubs, I cut the pictures out of the tags and used washi tape to attach them.

I think they turned out pretty cute, and hopefully (fingers crossed!) they will help the kids put their things where they belong. (I know this is a bit of a pipe dream…)

If you have similar toy storage needs at your house, you can download and print off your own tags HERE and HERE.

I hope you will all come by and see what else I’ve been up to over at Persia Lou. Happy Organizing!
