Red, White and Gold Gift Wrapping Ideas

Hello, friends and happy third Thursday! Erica from Dwell Beautiful here again! This week I’m sharing with you some fun gift wrapping ideas, using gold, white, and red elements. I for one actually really like wrapping gifts (anyone else with me??) and what makes it even more fun is throwing your own style into it. Instead of just shoving your gift in a bag or wrapping it in yesterday’s newspaper, branch out and make your gifts extra special this year! With family, I wrap presents more simply, but if they’re for friends or gift exchanges, I really like to jazz them up! Check out my easy tips below to make your presents sparkle 🙂

Gift Wrapping Materials

Gather as many fun and different materials as you can! Wrapping paper with cool patterns, chalkboard gift tags, stamps, little ornaments, glittery ribbon, jingle bells, miniature wreaths, trees, or figurines, you name it! Gather up materials that you may have lying around your house or shop for a few new things. I got a lot of these materials at Target and Michaels!

Use fun ribbons

Ribbon may be traditional when it comes to wrapping presents, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun! Try to find alternatives to plain ribbon by going for metallics or sparkly fabric types! For this present, I hot glue two lengths of ribbon around my package for a  simple and modern look.

Try stamping messages or pictures

Sometimes gift wrapping can be as simple as putting a beautiful stamp on a plain cardboard box to spruce it up. You can use seasonal stamps, or even everyday ones, like this ‘wonderful’ one, will do! Try different colored or glittered inks or heat embossing for an extra-special touch!

Make pretty gift tags

Gift tags don’t have to be boring stickers! To make mine pop, I picked up a set of 8 chalkboard gift tags and then wrote and doodled on them with a paint pen for that super popular chalkboard look! Phrases to use: Noel, Merry, Joy, Peace, Love, Merry & Bright, Season’s Greetings, or anything Christmasy you can think of!

Add jingle bells and mini ornaments

I love adding unique three-dimensional pieces to my gifts. Jingle bells are fun and festive and are great on presents for kids so they can shake them around! Mini ornaments are also super fun because they add textural interest and as an added bonus, the receiver can keep them and hang them on their tree for years to come! Try mixing all of these different elements together and see what you come up with!

One last tip I have is wrapping as many things individually as you can, so the person has more to open! All of the gifts seen here are for a Secret Santa of mine. I could have easily thrown them all in one box or bag, but dressing them up individually will make it more fun for the person opening them! Happy gift wrapping!

Thanks so much to Susan for having me stop by and I’ll see you next month! As always, I’d love if you’d come say hello over at Dwell Beautiful!
